During guideway maintenance, ensure by optical inspection that none of the following
are damaged and that no preventable damage to them is impending:
Check the guide rail surfaces for damage.
Check the wiper (see „7.7 Checking the results of the installation" on page 55).
Check cross wiper for damage/wear.
Check additional wiper (if present) for damage/wear.
Check the greasing state of the carriage (lubricant discharge).
Remove the carriage and check it for particles of dirt (see „6.2 Handling carriages"
on page 18).
Remove carriage and check plastic parts for damage (see „6.2 Handling carriages"
on page 18).
Remove residual swarf from the vicinity of the guideway.
ATTENTION
Risk of material damage posed by improper cleaning!
May result in damage to plastics and guide rails.
• All parts should only be cleaned using rubbing alcohol or white spirit.
Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents capable of damaging
plastics.
• Clean dirty guideways with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use
compressed air.
• Avoid direct contact between tools and the guideway's magnetic
measuring scale.
ATTENTION
Risk of material damage posed by bending sensor slide springs!
When transferring carriages with housing for the AMS measuring
system with built-in read head to/from guideway, sensor slide springs
can become bent.
• Dismount the read head before transferring carriage to/from guideway.
ATTENTION
Risk of material damage posed by scratching the measuring scale!
Swarf caught beneath metal wipers can scratch the magnetic measuring
scale.
• Only use metal wipers designated for the AMS measuring system
on guideways with magnetic measuring scale.
