Replacing cross wipers in the case of MONORAIL BM front plates
In the case of MONORAIL BM, only the cross wipers in the front plate should be replaced.
The screws of the front plate must not be loosened during this process.
1.
Use an assembly rail to transfer the carriage from the guideway.
2.
Pull the defective cross wiper downward and out of the front plate housing.
3.
Fully slide the cross wiper into the guideway groove of the front plate.
Ș
The cross wiper will snap in audibly.
4.
Remount the carriage onto the guide rail.
ZCV/ZBV additional wipers
Their flexibility enables additional wipers to be replaced directly on the guide rail.
They can also be installed retroactively, e.g. should cross wipers become worn
on the front plates of carriages that can not be removed from guide rails.
1.
Loosen the screws on the front plate of the carriage.
2.
Pull the additional wiper a few millimetres away from the front plate, holding the front
plate in place.
3.
Pull the wiper directly from the guideway and replace it (metal surface must face
outward).
4.
Pull the new additional wiper over the cross-section of the rail or thread it onto the
guide rail end.
5.
Press the wiper against the front plate, aligning it using the centring cone on its
reverse side.
6.
Ensure that the wiper is evenly positioned and tighten the screws (for max.
tightening torque see „12.2 Screw tightening torques" on page 73).
NOTE: The lube connections on the front plate are sealed with set screws.
During installation of the ZCV/ZBV additional wiper these set screws become
covered. When screwing a lube nipple into the additional wiper, the underlying set
screws must be removed.
Longitudinal wipers
Longitudinal wipers are attached firmly to the carriage or housing.
Checking longitudinal wipers
In order to identify damage to longitudinal wipers, fully dismount the carriage and carry
out an optical check of the wiper lips.
Replacing longitudinal wipers
In the case of damage to longitudinal wipers that are firmly attached to the carriage
or housing, the entire carriage must be replaced.
Metal wipers
Checking ASM/ABM metal wipers
Check the frontal panel for mechanical damage and that its gap is positioned
evenly with respect to the guide rail profile.
Replace or readjust metal wiper in accordance with findings.
