VDU

A suitable VDU may be connected to any ID2000 Series
panel at SK19 on the Base PCB or to the Isolated RS232
Interface PCB, if fitted, using socket SK1.
The recommended VDU may be obtained from NOTIFIER
(order code: CRT-2).
The emulation on this unit should be set to 'QVT101+'
or 'Wyse 50/350'. Any other VDU which provides VT101
or TV925 emulation may also be suitable.
The VDU must be set to the same baud rate as the
ID2000 Series panel (normally 9600) and, when
communication has been established, may be used for
configuring the ID2000 Series panel, that is entering
configuration data and also for performing primary
control functions (provided that the VDU is connected
to the Base PCB socket SK19 and not the Isolated
RS232 Interface PCB, which is output only). Further
details will be found in the ID2000 Series Panel
Configuration Manual (ref. 997-435-XXX).
A serial interface cable is required to connect the VDU
with a suitable terminal block connector (for Isolated
RS232 PCB) or 9-pin connector (for Base PCB) at the
panel end and a suitable 25-pin connector at the VDU
end.
It will also be necessary to ensure that the communication
protocols of the VDU match those of the ID2000 Series
control panel, i.e.:
Wiring details for the VDU connection are given below.
