Please read this operation manual carefully and understand it before assembling, operating or providing maintenance.

    Product Outline System configuration The EX600 range of units can be connected to various types of fieldbus to achieve the reduction of I/O device wiring and the use of a distributed control system. The unit communicates with the fieldbus through the SI unit.
  • Page 8 Glossary Term Definition Address Number allocated to identify each unit connected on PROFIBUS DP network. Address number is not (Station address) permitted to be duplicated. Data receive and transmit speed used by the fieldbus. This depends on master equipment (PLC etc.), Communication speed the unit used is bps (bit per second).
  • Page 9 Assembly Assembling the unit as a manifold. *: If the unit was purchased as a manifold, the work described in this section is not necessary. Note Be sure to turn off the power when carrying out work to assemble the unit as a manifold. Connect a unit to the end plate.
  • Page 10 Mounting the valve plate Mount the valve plate to the manifold valve with valve fixing screws. Insert the valve plate into the valve plate mounting groove at the side of the SI unit.

    Mounting and Installation Installation method Direct mounting When joining six or more units, fix the middle part of the complete EX600 unit with an intermediate reinforcing brace (EX600-ZMB1) before mounting (Refer to the figure below.) using 2xM4 screws (Tightening torque: 0.7 to 0.8 N•m) Intermediate reinforcing brace (EX600-ZMB1) Fix and tighten the end plate at one end of the unit as shown in the figure below.

  • Page 13 SPEEDCON wiring method The M12 connector can be mated with a SPEEDCON connector. Set the projected portion of the cable connector metal ring (plug /socket) to the mark at cable end. Push the connector straight to insert it into the receptacle of the unit. If inserted without aligning the mark, the connector will not mate with the receptacle.

    Parameter Settings The EX600 has parameter settings for the system, unit and each unit’s channel, which can be set through PLC or hand-held terminal. There are no priorities in setting the parameters. The unit will use the most recent setting, see note.
