13.6 PROCEDURE FOR INCREASING OR
REDUCING TRACK FRAME GAUGE

WARNING
Never use the machine for operations with the track frame
retracted.

Remove center frame mounting bolts 0. (one side, front + rear:
18 bolts)
Center trame
Swing the upper structure to the track frame
side to be
retracted until the upper structure is at a right angle to the tracks.
Then, jack up the track frame, making use of the work equip-
ment.
Put the block (20 to 30 cm (8 to 12 in) square) from outside of
track frame @. Using the boom cylinder, slowly lower the
machine until the track frame reaches the stoppers.
Lower the machine carefully and install bolts 0. (one side, front
+ rear: 8 bolts out of bolts 0)
Tightening torque: 1715 f 200 Nm
(175 + 20 kgm, 1275 f 145 Ibft)
Remove steps @ (front and rear) at the side of the track frame.
Followthe same procedure to retract the track frame on the other
