Replacing equipment cards

Replacing equipment
Use Procedure 18 to replace Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (IPE) cards,
including the following:
NT8D02 Digital Line Card
NT8D09 Analog Message Waiting Line Card
NT8D14 Universal Trunk Card
NT8D15 E&M Trunk Card
See the Software Input/Output: Maintenance (553-3001-511) and the
Software Input/Output: System Messages (553-3001-411) for a description of
all maintenance commands and system messages.
To replace equipment cards, follow the steps in Procedure 18.
Procedure 18
Replacing equipment cards

Software-disable the card by using these commands:
LD 32
DISC c ("c" is the card number)

Unhook the locking devices on the card; pull it out of the card cage.

Set option switches or jumper plugs to the same settings as those on the
card you removed:

Insert the replacement card into the vacated slot and hook the locking
devices.
When cards are installed, the red LED on the faceplate flashes as a
self-test runs. If the self-test completes successfully, the card is
automatically enabled (if it is configured in software) and the LED goes
out. If the self-test fails, the LED lights steadily and remains lit.
