Configuration tasks (minimum)
This quick guide aims at experienced service personnel who have installed the FV-110GX system and
connected power. It lists the minimum configuration tasks you have to make before the system. can be
used on-air on a satellite.
1. Connect a PC to the front LAN connector or the LAN3 connector at the rear of the Antenna Control
Unit.
2. On the ACU keypad, push and hold the left arrow key for 5 seconds and wait for the very short
display of Local administration, followed by the event text: 0807F-0 WARNING Local
administration enable. This gives you temporary administrator access for 1 hour or until next
restart.
3. Open an Internet Browser and type the default IP address of the FV-110GX: http://192.168.0.1 to
access the web interface.
Configuration
task
Configure the heading input to External under SETTINGS > Navigation. For

Connect the ship's heading (RS-422, NMEA0183) to the NMEA 0183 multi-
connector. Pin 8 Ship Ground/Shield (connect only one end), Pin 9 Line B +, and
Pin 10 Line A-. For more information see NMEA 0183 connector on page 3-3.
Make a Tx cable calibration under SERVICE > Calibration to ensure that Tx
TX cable
power is calibrated. For more information see Cable calibration on page 5-11.

Make an azimuth calibration under SERVICE > Calibration to ensure that the
Azimuth
antenna can point and receive a signal from the satellite. For more information

Configure the network settings under SETTINGS > Network according to your
Network settings
requirements. For more information see To configure the LAN network on
page 5-23.
A satellite profile with the GX Modem is already set up and activated at the
Satellite profile
factory. No further profiles are needed.
4. Switch on the GMU and wait for the GMU to boot and perform the initial BUC calibration.
5. Verify that the FV-110GX acquires the GX satellite (ACU display shows ACQUISITION).
6. Verify that the system is operational. The status in the ACU display must show TRACKING and
the upper status line MDM: NETOK.
