SmartCard Functionality

The Markoprint XB4JET / XB8JET print system is equipped in the MK2 version with SmartCard
identification of the cartrigdes.
The HP MK2 printhead has an additional contact block which connects the SmartCard chip with
the analysis electronics by insertion of the SmartCard cartridge.

The chip is detected by inserting the cartridge. The printhead LED show this:
The head LED blinks green for 3 seconds if the SmartCard is detected.
The LED blinks green/red if a cartridge without SmartCard is inserted. The system works without
the advantages of the SmartCard data.
If the print system isn't activating for the use of cartridges without SmartCard, the LED will be
blink red and the print system doesn't print.
The LED blinks yellow/red if there is a read error on the SmartCard chip and the cartridge prints
without consideration of the SmartCard data.
