Start New Walk Test
Notice!
During a walk test, the Back and Home buttons are inactive. Exit (to the idle screen) is the
only active button. Because only certain personnel are authorized to execute a walk test, and
the test requires the person to leave the area near the control center, another user with the
same level of authority can only exit to the idle screen and log in with the appropriate
authority level. Doing so would interrupt the walk test.
To avoid an interruption of the test, the installer can place a note on the control center to
indicate that a test is in process.
From the Walk Test screen, press Start New Walk Test. The Walk Test Select screen (Figure
2.80 Walk Test Select screen, page 51) opens showing the following options:

If you press the Select Area button, the Select Area screen (Figure 2.81 Walk Test: Select
Areas screen, page 52) opens. Press the buttons for the areas to be tested.
Notice!
Armed areas are not available (grayed out) for Walk Test. If one of the areas in the system is
armed, the All Points button is grayed out.
