O utside Tem peratu re Indicator
The tem perature sensor is located
in the front bum per area. Due to its
location, the sensor can be affect
ed by road or engine heat during
idling or slow driving. This m eans
that the accuracy o f the displayed
tem perature can only be verified by
com parison to a therm om eter
placed next to the sensor, not by
com parison to external displays
(e.g. bank signs etc.).
Adaptation to am bient tem perature
takes place in steps and depends
on the prevailing driving conditions
(stop-and-go or m oderate, constant
driving) and am ount of tem perature
change.
Warning!
The outside tem perature
indicator is not designed to
serve as an Ice-W arning
D evice and is therefo re un
suitable for that purpose. In
dicated tem peratures just
above the freezing point do
not guarantee that the road
surface is free of ice.
C oolant Tem perature Gauge
If the antifreeze m ixture is effec
tive to ~22°F (-3 0 °C ), the boiling
point of the coolant in the
pressurized cooling system of your

During severe operating con
ditions and stop-and-go city traffic,
the coolant tem perature may rise
close to the red marking.
The engine should not be operated
