Locking and Unlocking
Unlocking:
Press transm it button r t i . All turn
signal lam ps blink once to indicate
that the vehicle is unlocked.
The rem ote control can be pro­
gram m ed for two kinds of unlock­
ing m ethods (see below):
Selective unlocking m ode -
Press transm it button W
unlock d river's door and fuel filler
flap.
Press transm it button r a
unlock doors, fuel filler flap, and
trunk.
Global unlocking mode -
Press transm it button m
unlock doors, fuel filler flap, and
trunk.
Notes:
If the trunk was previously locked
separately, it will rem ain locked
(see Index).
The presently active unlocking
m ode (selective or global) can only
be determ ined by unlocking the
vehicle with the rem ote control
(see below for changing mode).
The vehicle is autom atically locked
again, if w ithin 40 seconds of un­
locking with the rem ote control,
neither door or trunk is opened, the
electronic key is not inserted in the
steering lock, or the central locking
switch is not activated.

tim es to indicate that the vehicle is
locked.

If the vehicle cannot be locked or
unlocked by pressing the transm it
button, then it m ay be necessary to

change the batteries in the tran s­
m itter (if ok, battery check lamp in
transm itter will light briefly when
transm itting) or to synchronize the
system , see R em ote C ontrol in
Index.

Mode on R em ote C ontrol
Press and h o ld transm it buttons
f and W sim ultaneously for
five seconds to reprogram the
rem ote control. Battery check lamp
will blink tw o tim es indicating the
com pleted m ode change.
