Checking Engine Oil Level

To check the engine oil level,
park vehicle on level ground,
with engine at normal
operational tem perature.
C heck engine oil level
approxim ately 5 m inutes after
stopping the engine, allowing for
the oil to return to the oil pan.
Oil Dipstick:
W ipe oil dipstick clean prior to
checking the engine oil level. Fully
insert dipstick in tube, and rem ove
after three seconds to obtain
accurate reading.
Oil level m ust be between
the low er (min) and
upper (max) m ark of the
dipstick.
Fill quantity betw een upper and
low er dipstick m arking level is
approxim ately 2.1 US qt (2.0 I).
Do not overfill the engine.
Excessive oil m ust be drained or
siphoned. It could cause dam age
to engine and catalytic converter
not covered by the M ercedes-Benz
