Engine C leaning
Prior to cleaning the engine
com partm ent m ake sure to protect
electrical com ponents and co n ­
nectors from the intrusion of w ater
and cleaning agents.
Corrosion protection, such as
MB Anticorrosion W ax should be
applied to the engine com partm ent
after every engine cleaning. Before
applying, all control linkage bush­
ings and joints should be lubricat­
ed. The poly-V -belt and all pulleys
should be protected from any wax.
Car W ashing
Do not use hot w ater or w ash your
car in direct sunlight. Use only a
mild car wash detergent, such as
M ercedes-Benz approved C ar
Shampoo.
Thoroughly spray the car with a
diffused jet of water. Direct only a
very w eak spray tow ards the
ventilation intake. Use plenty of
w ater and rinse the sponge and
cham ois frequently.
Rinse with clear w ater and
thoroughly wipe dry with a
cham ois. Do not allow cleaning
agents to dry on the finish.
If the vehicle has been run through
an autom atic car wash - in particu­
lar one of the older installations -
rewipe the recessed sections in the
taillam ps (designed to prevent
soiling) if necessary. No solvents
(fuels, thinners etc.) m ust be used.
In the winter, thoroughly rem ove all
traces of road salt as soon as
possible.
W hen w ashing the underbody, do
not forget to clean the inner sides
of the wheels.
T ar Stains
Q uickly rem ove ta r stains before
they dry and becom e m ore difficult
to rem ove. A ta r rem over is
recom m ended.
W indow C leaning
Use a w indow cleaning solution on
all glass surfaces. An autom otive
glass cleaner is recom m ended.
Plastic and R ubber Parts
Do not use oil or wax on these
parts.
W ip er Blade
Clean the w iper blade rubber with
a clean cloth and detergent
solution. R eplace blade tw ice a
year; once before and once after
w inter.
H eadlam p C leaning System
The condition of the w iper blades is
im portant fo r satisfactory cleaning
of the headlam p lenses. W e there­
fore recom m end that the blades be
inspected regularly.
R eplace dam aged w iper blades.
