Using EMDIAG to
Troubleshoot Problems
Note:
Consult the \readme\emdiag.txt file for the latest
information and instructions. Some procedures or
information may have changed or may not have been
available when this user's guide was printed.
This chapter explains how to use the Adaptec EMDIAG program,
and how to troubleshoot problems that you may be having with
your adapter.
If your adapter is not functioning properly, first make sure that it
was set up according to instructions in this document.

Verify that your adapter is installed properly and configured
correctly (Chapter 2, Installing Your Adapter).

Verify that your network is properly cabled and the adapter is
properly connected (Chapter 3, Connecting to Your Network
Cable).

Verify that the adapter's network driver is installed correctly
(Chapter 4, Installing Network Drivers).

Verify that you are using the latest BIOS for your computer,
and the latest driver for your adapter.
If the adapter still does not work, run the adapter's diagnostic tests.
