7.0 Maintenance and Service

7.4 Hygrotherm / Variotherm: Decalcification

Depending on where the unit is used if the tap water is known for mineral precipitation, preventive decalcification should be
carried out:
• Close tap.
• Unscrew the filter glass.
• Fill glass with approx. 100 ml of decalcifier on acetic / citric, or lactic acid base (for inst. Citrosteril, by Fresenius).
• Screw screw-top jar again.
• Reopen the tap.
• Switch on the device.
• Remove the irrigation handle from the support for 10-15 s and then replace it.
• Allow to take effect.
• Remove the irrigation handle from the support and rinse 2-3 times.

7.5 Hygrotherm / Variotherm: Filter replacement

• If the filter cartridge is contaminated or discoloured then
the filter element must be replaced as follows:
- Close water supply tap.
- Briefly switch on the unit to reduce pressure in the
filter housing.
- Switch off the unit when "F 1" appears on the display.
- Unscrew plexiglass canister (, fig. 7) from filter
housing (, fig. 7) by turning anti-clockwise.
- Remove filter cartridge (, fig. 7) and replace it with a
new one (Art.No. 502.0891.0).
• The filter element must not come into contact with
contaminated objects in order to prevent the ingress of
germs into the water system.

7.6 Sending in the device

• Remove and properly dispose of consumables.
• Clean and disinfect the product and accessories according to the operating instructions.
• Place used accessories with the product.
• Fill in the form QD 434 „Delivery complaint / return shipment" and the respective decontamination certificate.

• The device must be well padded and packed in suitable packaging.
• Place the form QD 434 „Delivery complaint / return shipment" and the respective decontamination certificate in an
envelope.
• Affix the envelope to the outside of the package.
• Send the product to ATMOS or to your dealer.
