2.2.1 Permissible CP modules and string lengths depending on the
CP cable

Please note
Depending on the CP modules used, the CP cables and the
current consumption, the following limitations apply when
using the CP cable type KVI−CP−1−... or KVI−CP−2−...:
Only one CP valve terminal or one CP output module is
permitted per CP string.
The maximum permissible string length of 10 m may be
additionally limited. Tab. 2/1 and Tab. 2/2 have an over
view.
This results from the larger permissible string currents for
CP systems with extended functions.
Special cable, type KVI−CP−3−...is being prepared for
CP systems with extended functions.
The limitations do not apply when using this CP cable.
Should a CP string contain a CP valve terminal or a CP output
module type CP−A04−M12−CL, proceed as follows:
1. Ascertain the maximum sensor current consumption on
the CP string concerned (see also section 2.3.2).
2. Check whether a shorter permissible string length as per
Tab. 2/1 and Tab. 2/2 results.
Tip:
Place CP valve terminals or CP output modules as the first
CP module on the string if at all possible.
