In the capacity of CP master, each CPX−CP interface controls
data transfer to a wide variety of controller systems in a CPX
terminal. In principle, multiple CPX−CP interfaces can be used
in a CPX terminal.

I/O data exchange constantly takes place via the CPX−CP
interface between the CPX terminal and the CP modules
connected to the CPX−CP interface.
The complete length of cable in a string must not exceed
10 m.
