Interbus field bus nodes (e.g. CPX−FB6) can manage a
maximum of 96 inputs and 96 outputs. The CP system's I/O
addresses are therefore packed" in CPX terminals with
Interbus field bus nodes.
The following rules apply to the address range occupied by
the CPX−CP interface:
The number of addresses that can be used by the CP
interface is limited by the addressses available in the
field bus node (96 I/96 O or 80 I/80 O with PCP chan
nel). The field bus node reports a fault if this has been
exceeded.
The size of the address range occupied by the CP inter
face depends only the total number of input and output
addresses occupied by the CP modules connected.
Address assignment of the individual modules takes places
according to the following rules:
The input and output addresses of the CP modules are
arranged one next to the other without any gaps, inde
pendent of which string the relevant module is connected
to.
The addresses of the inputs do not depend on the
addresses of the outputs.
The diagram below shows as an example of the address
assignment of the CP system.
