About the DMS Matrix Switchers

The DMS matrix switchers are configurable, modular matrix switchers that distribute a
single link of DVI or HDMI (with suitable adapters) digital video. Each switcher is assembled
from user-installed input and output (I/O) boards. There are three types of I/O boards available:

Each board supports up to four inputs, outputs, or both. The DMS 1600 can support up to
four I/O boards of any of the above type. The DMS 3600 can support up to nine I/O boards.

The matrix switcher routes any input signal to any combination of outputs. The matrix
switcher can route multiple input/output configurations simultaneously.
One or two internal, hot-swappable 100 VAC to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, 175-watt power
supplies provide worldwide power compatibility and reliability.
The matrix switchers are single box solutions to complex digital video signal routing
applications. Each input and output is individually isolated and buffered, and any input can be
switched to any one or all outputs with virtually no crosstalk or signal noise between channels.
The matrix switchers can be remotely controlled via their rear panel Remote RS-232/RS-422
ports, their rear panel LAN port, and their front panel Configuration (USB) port using either
the Extron Matrix Switchers Control Program or the Simple Instruction Set (SIS
driven Extron software uses a graphical, drag-and-drop interface to make I/O configuration
and other customization functions simple and convenient. The SIS is a set of basic ASCII
code commands that provide simple control through a control system or PC.

The matrix switchers are housed in rack-mountable, 4U (DMS 1600) or 8U (DMS 3600) high
metal enclosures with mounting flanges for standard 19-inch racks.
