Front Panel Configuration Port

A standard USB cable and the Extron DataViewer utility, version 2.0 or newer, can be used
for connection to the Configuration port. The USB cable, available at any local electronics
store, should be terminated on one end with a mini USB B male connector
NOTE:

Ethernet (LAN) Port

The rear panel Ethernet connector on the switcher can be connected to an Ethernet LAN
or WAN for SIS control of the switcher. Communications between the switcher and the
controlling device is via Telnet (a TCP socket using port 23). The TCP port can be changed
if necessary, via SIS. The SIS commands and the actions of the switcher are identical to the
commands and actions the switcher has when communicating with it via RS-232.

Ethernet Connection

The Ethernet cable can be terminated as a straight-through cable or a crossover cable and
must be properly terminated for your application (see figure 20).

Default IP Addresses

To access the DMS matrix switcher via the LAN port, you need the Extron IP address, and
may need the subnet mask and the gateway address. If the IP address has been changed
to an address comprised of words and characters, you can determine the actual numeric
IP address using the ping utility (see

Before you use the DMS Configuration (USB) port for the first time, you need to
install and activate the USB driver on your computer. The simplest way to do this
is to install version 8.0 or newer of the Matrix Switchers Control Program and
then run the Found New Hardware Wizard (see
