2.2 Intended purpose

2.2 Intended purpose

2.2.1 General

This KaVo product is used for extracting hazardous dust particles (with MAK values),
inert dust particles and vapours (methyl methacrylate in particular) from the atmo‐
sphere.
It is intended for use in dental laboratories and practices, and within industry (golds‐
miths, hearing-aid manufacture, glass cutting etc.).
The KaVo product is not permitted to be used in areas subject an explosion hazard.
The appropriate, comprehensive guidelines for machines and/or national laws, na‐
tional regulations and technlogical rules for starting up and operating have to be
applied and fulfilled in line with the specified, intended purpose of the KaVo product.
Users have a duty to:
▪ Only use equipment that is operating correctly
▪ Protect themselves, patients and third parties from danger.
To ensure that the KaVo product is constantly ready for operation and retains its
value, the recommended maintenance activities must be carried out.
KaVo cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by:
▪ External factors beyond its control, poor media quality or defective installation
▪ The use of incorrect information
▪ Repair work carried out incorrectly
The user must ensure that that the device works properly and is in a satisfactory
condition before each use.
Authorised to repair and service the KaVo product:
▪ Technicians from the KaVo branches who are trained to deal with the product.
▪ the technicians of the KaVo franchised dealers specifically trained by KaVo.
During use, national legal regulations must be observed, in particular:
▪ the applicable health and safety regulations.
▪ the applicable accident prevention regulations.
Note
The waste that arises must be recycled or disposed of in a manner safe for humans
and the environment. Observe the applicable national regulations.
Please direct all questions regarding the proper disposal of KaVo products to the
nearest KaVo branch.
