2.2 Purpose – Proper use
2.2.1 General information
The unit may only be operated in enclosed spaces by competent personnel.
During use, national legal regulations must be observed, in particular:
▪ the applicable health and safety regulations.
▪ the applicable accident prevention regulations.
This KaVo product is intended only for use in the field of dentistry. It is impermissible
to use the product for a purpose for which it was not intended.
"Proper use" includes following all the instructions for use and ensuring that all in‐
spections and service tasks are performed.
The user must ensure that that the unit works properly and is in a satisfactory con‐
dition before each use.
Damage from unsuitable accessories
The use of other accessories, transformers and lines than those indicated (with the
exception of transformers and lines that KaVo sells as replacement parts for inter‐
nal components) can increase transmission or reduce the electromagnetic immu‐
nity of the product.
▶ Only use accessories recommended by KaVo.
Disposal of electronics
Note
According to the EC directive concerning electrical and electronic used devices,
this product is subject to the cited directive and must be disposed accordingly within
Europe.
Additional information can be obtained from KaVo or your dental supplier.
2.2.2 Product-specific
The KaVo class B STERIclave has a completely automated sterilisation system and
is equipped with a vacuum pump. This allows all the air to be evacuated to quickly
produce a vacuum. To accelerate the different sterilisation cycles, the STERIclave
B is equipped with a pre-heating system.. This system maintains a temperature of
100°C.
The STERIclave B is also equipped with a drying system that offers a drying time
of 2 to 9 minutes.
All phases of the various sterilisation and drying cycles are electronically monitored.
Each malfunction generates and acoustic signal and is visually displayed. The pri‐
mary data of each sterilisation cycle can be printed out on a printer.
The Stericlave B comes with three main programs and four special programs. Spe‐
cial program 4 can be individually programmed. Two test programs are also avai‐
lable. These are for performing BOWIE & DICK tests and for daily checking the seal
and for testing after servicing.
The KaVo STERIclave B must only be used to sterilise dental instruments
