SYNCHRONIZERS
The transmission
of the 9'28 is equipped with modified
Porsche synchronization
for all forward speeds.
One of the changes is the "mission
of circlips.
which previously
were used to keep the synchronizing
ring thrust blocks and shift bands from moving axially.
In the new system this is accomplished
by a
shift sleeve with beveled
flanks.
