7. Leakage pressure
Here, you define at which leakage pressure the device will automatically cancel a running
process for safety reasons.
Default factory settings:
Range of maximum values:
➜ Tap "Leakage pressure" and set the
desired maximum leakage pressure.
✓ Once the pressure during pumping out falls below the leakage pressure, the safety
function is activated.
✓ If the value is exceeded during pumping out - for example because of glass breakage
or leakages - vacuum, rotation and heating are stopped, the flask lift is moved up,
and a corresponding warning message appears.
8. Max. pump capacity
A reduction in the suction capacity leads to a higher recovery rate of the solvent.
When using a speed-controlled pump (Rotavac Vario control and Rotavac Vario tec), here
you can reduce the max. pump capacity down to 20% by increments of 10% in order to
prevent foaming or delay in boiling.
➜ Tap "Max. pump capacity" and set the
desired capacity in percent.
If a valve-controlled pump is connected, the inscription is grayed out and it is not
possible to adjust the pump capacity.
9. Calibrating the pressure sensor
For calibration, we recommend to switch on the rotation in order to
ensure seal integrity of the system. If other processes are running
apart from the rotation, all processes will be stopped for calibration.
When using the vacuum sensor, you can calibrate it. For this purpose, you need an
calibrated external pressure gauge.
The basic calibration of the sensor is done by Heidolph Instruments.
Normally, a recalibration is not required.
✓ The vacuum sensor is attached and connected.
✓ The system is completely ventilated (no vacuum!).
✓ During calibration, a calibrated external pressure gauge is attached to the evaporator
system.
➜ Measure the atmospheric pressure on the calibrated external pressure gauge.
➜ Tap "Calibrate pressure sensor".
➜ Following the instructions of the infor-
mation texts on the display:
