DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
SPARK PLUGS — 2.5L With Leaded Fuel
Option
The 2.5L engines that are calibrated to run on
leaded fuel do not use the platinum spark plugs.
Refer to the maintenance schedule in Group 0 of this
service manual.
All engines use resistor spark plugs. They have
resistance values ranging from 6,000 to 20,000 ohms
when checked with at least a 1000 volt spark plug
tester.
The spark plugs are double copper tipped, and
have a recommended service life of 30,000 miles for
normal driving conditions per schedule A in this
manual.
