Using FTP to upgrade Comware software through the
management Ethernet port
In this example, the device acts as the FTP client.
To upgrade Comware software through the management Ethernet port:
1.
Connect the device to the intended FTP server through the device's management Ethernet port and
obtain the IP address of the intended TFTP server. Connect your terminal to the device's console
port.
You can use the same PC for the two purposes.
2.
On the intended FTP server, run FTP server, specify the working path for software upgrade, and
configure an FTP user account.
3.
Run the terminal emulation program on the terminal, reboot the device, and enter the
EXTENDED-BOOTWARE menu.
