Add the Sensor

When the Adjustable Mount is firmly affixed and stable, attach the M8 sensor as follows:
1. If the Weather Shield is attached to the Adjustable Mount, thread the M8 sensor cable
out the back through the keyhole opening at the bottom of the Weather Shield.
2. Use your preferred fastening hardware to attach the M8 sensor with its attached
rectangular base plate (Figure 52) to the pitch plate.

Adjust Pitch and Roll

Even after the Adjustable Mount is firmly affixed to the preferred surface, you can adjust
the M8 sensor's position by making a pitch adjustment (rotations around the X-axis) and/or
a roll adjustment (rotations around the Y-axis).
1. If you need to adjust the sensor's pitch and roll, loosen all locking nuts and screws
below the pitch plate except for the items circled in red in Figure 58. Otherwise, loosen
only the items pertaining to the pitch or roll adjustment.
2. Make the adjustments discussed in the following "Pitch Adjustment" and/or "Roll
Adjustment" sections.
3. When the adjustments are satisfactory, confirm that all locking nuts and screws are
securely tightened to hold the M8 sensor firmly in place.

Pitch Adjustment

With pitch-related locking nuts and screws loosened:
1. Use a 10 mm socket wrench to screw the sensor's pitch adjuster in or out.
2. Adjust pitch to the desired angle.
3. Tighten the locking nuts (four places, two on each side, 10 ft-lbs, 13.6 N-m) and
the adjustment locking nut (10 ft-lbs, 13.6 N-m) to prevent drift over time.

Roll Adjustment

With roll-related locking nuts and screws loosened:
1. Use a 10 mm socket wrench to screw the sensor's roll adjuster in or out. This will make
the pitch plate's front edge rise or fall.
2. Adjust roll to the desired angle.
3. Tighten the two locking nuts (8 ft-lbs, 10.8 N-m) and the adjustment locking nut
(10 ft-lbs, 13.6 N-m) securely to prevent drift over time.
