Settings Tab

The Settings tab offers three items (Figure 28) that provide the essential mechanisms for
controlling the sensor's configuration file settings:
• Edit Settings — to customize various usability settings.
• Reset Settings — to restore to factory default settings.
• Edit Network — to customize network-specific settings.
This tab is explained in the following sections.

Edit Settings

Edit the sensor's settings as follows:
1. Select the Settings tab's Edit Settings item (Figure 28) to open the M8 Settings Edit page
(Figure 29). This page enables the user to edit specific values in the sensor's
configuration file, as discussed in the following subsections. A collapsed view of the
Settings tab is shown in Figure 29 (top), which expands into sections for the Ring
settings (right) and GPS settings (bottom).
2. After making as many changes as you wish to any or all of the following settings, save
those changes by clicking the Submit button. A message confirms: "Settings updated
and will be used when a new client connection is made to the sensor."

Frame Rate

The Frame Rate in Hz field is set at 10 hertz by default. Changing this number slows down
or speeds up the sensor's rotational speed (frame rate) in cycles per second (hertz).
To change the frame rate (Figure 29 top):
1. In this field, you can type a whole number from 5 to 20, but Quanergy recommends
10 Hz for most applications.
2. Click the Submit button, or continue making changes in the next section.
