Installation of Accessories

For best results in outdoor environments, Quanergy recommends mounting the Weather
Shield over the M8 sensor on an Adjustable Mount that is strapped to a pole or affixed to a
flat surface. For indoor environments, the Weather Shield is not necessary.
The following procedures explain how to install the M8 sensor using these accessories to
fit your needs. Refer to Figure 53 and Figure 57.

Gather Resources

You will need the following resources and tools to accomplish the procedures in this
"Installation of Accessories" section:
• Two people to perform the procedure.
• Hex Allen Keys to loosen and tighten various screws.
• Socket Wrench to adjust the pitch and roll.
• Procedure-specific items are listed as needed in the instructions.

Apply Force

Adhere to the following recommended torque values (inch. nom.) to use in the following
hardware adjustment procedures:
• For M5 screw size, apply 8 ft-lb (10.8 N-m)
• For M6 screw size, apply 10 ft-lb (13.6 N-m)
• For M8 screw size, apply 18 ft-lb (24.4 N-m)

Determine Which Mounting Surface

The following procedures explain the installation of the Adjustable Mount on either a pole
or a flat surface.
