GPS Settings

Users who employ a GPS/IMU receiver can take advantage of its signal output. If the
sensor is not receiving a GPS signal, these three settings have no effect.
Refer to Figure 29 (top and bottom) and make sure the GPS signals are set according to
your equipment and preferences, as follows:
1. Select the GPS Settings button text to expand that section of the M8 Settings Edit page.
2. The PPS Signal (Pulse per Second) from GPS checkbox is for setting the sensor to accept a
positive (non-inverted) or negative (inverted) PPS signal from a GPS receiver, as
explained in Appendix 1, starting on page 66. If the sensor is receiving a PPS signal:
• Uncheck the box to accept PPS signal as is: high stays high, low stays low.
• Check the box to invert the PPS signal: changes high input to low, low to high.
3. The Serial Signal from GPS check box is for setting the sensor to accept the NMEA
sentence as a serial signal from the GPS device:
• Uncheck the box to accept the signal as active high (non-inverted).
• Check the box to invert the signal to be active low (inverted).
4. The NMEA Baud Rate drop-down menu is for syncing with the GPS serial data rate.
Consult the GPS device documentation to know which rate to select. This menu lists a
range of baud rate options from 1200-2000000. 4800 is the default rate.
5. Select the GPS Settings button text to collapse that section of the M8 Settings Edit page.
6. Click the Submit button, or continue making changes in the next section.
