Appendix 2: Sensor Mounting and Accessories

The M8 sensor dimensions are provided in this appendix to help you design mounting
configurations. Refer also to the "Mounting the Sensor" section on page 22.

Sensor Dimensions

The sensor's round mounting base, which must remain attached, can mount to a custom surface.
WARNING: The sensor's detachable, rectangular base plate (400g aluminum) provides a platform for
the sensor and dissipates heat produced by the sensor's electronics and motor, keeping the sensor's
operating temperature range within –20°C to +60°C (–4°F to +140°F). If removed, substitute a heat sink
of similar or greater thermal mass to prevent the sensor from overheating and enhance its longevity.
