Identify an area of interest by
positioning seeds
4. Draw a planned needle path.
Select Needle Path.
a.
The system activates the needle path tool.
b. Click the starting point of the needle path on an MPR.
c. Click the ending point of the needle path on an MPR.
Note: You can position the starting and ending points of the needle path on different MPRs.
The system displays a pink outline on the image to mark the planned needle path and
updates the Navigator with a corresponding entry.

Do this
a. Activate the seed placement tool.
● Select Seed Segmentation.
○ For systems without a touch screen, click Seed Segmentation on
the image menu.

b. Select a Seed Size setting.
c. To position the foreground seeds:
● Press SELECT-R to select Foreground and then click the required
location(s) on the image.
○ For systems without a touch screen, press NEXT to select
Foreground, if necessary, and then click the required location(s) on
the image.
d. To position the background seeds:
● Press SELECT-R to select Background and then click the required
location(s) on the image.
○ For systems without a touch screen, press NEXT to select
Background and then click the required location(s) on the image.
e. To remove foreground or background seeds:
● Select Clear Foreground Seeds or Clear Background Seeds.
○ For systems without a touch screen, click Clear Foreground Seeds
or Clear Background Seeds on the image menu and then press
UPDATE.
The system displays an outline around the area identified by the
foreground and background seeds and updates the Navigator with a
corresponding entry.
