1.3.2 Fieldbus baud rate and fieldbus length

The maximum permitted fieldbus length depends on the
baud rate used. Tab. 1/7 shows the reference values.

The maximum permitted length of a branch line depends on
the total length of the branch lines and on the baud rate.
Details can be found in the manuals for the your control sys-
tem or scanner.
Note
Refer to the manuals for your control system or bus

interface in order to ascertain which T-adapter and
maximum branch line length are permitted for your
controller.
Also take into account the sum of the branch line lengths
•
when calculating the maximum permitted length of the
fieldbus cable.
