TROUBLESHOOTING AND RECTIFICATION

Functional fault
Insuffi cient product output Nozzle too small
Poor spray pattern
Poor wrap-around
No wrap-around

Product pressure too low
Filter of gun or pump blocked
Nozzle is clogged
Wrongly adjusted atomizing air
Unfavorable nozzle size
Product pressure too high/too low
Spray product viscosity too high
Damaged nozzle
Poor grounding at object
Lacquer resistance too high/too low
Spraying pressure too high
No high-voltage
Seal in end piece defective
Air-passages damp
Poor grounding at object
Distance between spray gun and object
too large
High-voltage set wrongly (too high)
Loosen the nozzle union nut for round
jet method
Distance between spray gun and object
too large
Seals at the valve rod are damaged
Loose packing
Remedy
Select larger nozzle (see Accessories)
Increase product pressure
Clean or replace fi lter
Clean or replace nozzle
Readjust air pressure regulator
Select a diff erent nozzle (see
Accessories)
Adapt product pressure
Dilute spray product in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions
Insert new nozzle
Check grounding of object or hanger
with ohmmeter
Check paint resistance (see Chapter 2.5)
Readjust spraying pressure
Switch on high-voltage at the control
unit. Repair malfunction as laid
down in the control unit operating
manuals.
Connect gun and gun cable/check
for defects
Check paint resistance
(see Chapter 2.5)
Repair by WAGNER service
Clean and dry air-passages
Check grounding
Reduce distance between spray gun
and object
Adapt high-voltage to product
Slightly tighten union nut by hand
Reduce distance between spray gun
and object
Replace the seals (see Chapter 10)
Tighten
