Modem Power Supply

Disable Serial Port Power - The power for the modem
is disabled
Always Power Serial Port - The power to the modem
is permanently enabled
Interrupt Serial Port Power - To ensure the correct
operation of any device connected to the serial port,
power to the port is interrupted for 20 seconds at a programmable period (1 - 24 hours) set by the
user.
If a communications session is active the reset will occur at the end of the communications session.
Note: If a modem is installed which draws too much power from the meter,
a transient reset occurs and the modem power supply is disabled to prevent continuous resetting of
the meter. The power supply can be re-enabled via the IEC 1107 port by using the 'Always power
serial port' or 'Interrupt serial port power' facility.

Error Handling

The Error handling tab is shown opposite.
Battery or Clock Fail Action - If the battery in
the meter has failed and a supply failure also
occurs, when power is restored the time and
date of the battery failure will be logged.
In this event the meter can do one of three
things:
Continue on the tariff scheme, with a
consequent time error equal to the duration of
the supply failure.
Action End of Billing Reset, then continue
using the tariff as normal.
Action End of Billing Reset and freeze the tariff.
Reverse Run Configuration - This allows reverse run events to be recorded for an import only
meter, or to be omitted for an import/export meter.
Active Phases for Phase Failure Monitoring - For normal operating conditions, all three phases
are enabled. For certain configurations (e.g. 2 phases of a 3 phase 4 wire) only the red and blue
phases are activated. Leaving the yellow phase unchecked allows display messages and load profile
flags to be inhibited for the yellow phase.
Install External Battery - This allows the Read Without Power battery to be installed.
Voltage Phase Failure Threshold - The voltage phase failure threshold is applied to the voltage
connected directly to the meter terminals.
