Pictograms and Annotation

Use the pictogram and annotation controls to display text and graphics
depicting anatomical structures on-screen.

Text

Allows access to tools for positioning, entering, and editing text on the
image screen. You can enter text from the keyboard or from a set of
descriptive anatomical terms on the LCD.
Pressing the TEXT key displays the terms assigned to a specific exam
type on the LCD and causes the system to place the text cursor on the
image screen. For software versions 2.0 and higher: The system places
the cursor at the end of the last entered text.
To reposition the text cursor, roll the trackball. Either use the keyboard to
enter text or select a term from the LCD. Access additional pages of terms
with the PAGE control. Press the ESC key to remove text displayed on
the screen.
For software versions 2.0 and higher: Press the ESC key, the SELECT-L
control, or the SELECT-R control to remove text displayed on the screen.
Use the system presets to customize the text assigned to an exam type.

Pictogram

Pictograms
are on-screen anatomical graphics that indicate the anatomy
under evaluation and the orientation of the transducer. Pictograms can also
be included in patient reports for some exam types.
Pressing the PICTOGRAM key displays the pictograms assigned to a
specific exam type on the LCD.
Use the system presets to customize the pictograms assigned to an
exam type.
To select a pictogram, press the associated LCD key. Access additional
pictograms with the PAGE control. Press the ESC key to remove the
pictogram displayed on the screen.
Some pictograms contain a transducer marker. Use the SELECT control to
rotate the transducer marker. To reposition the marker, roll the trackball.
