Connect to the Internet

Before you begin, obtain the following information from your Internet service provider (ISP) or
wireless service provider: ISP server phone number or access point, user name, and password.
Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab (see Figure 45).

• Tap Connections, and in My ISP, set up a modem connection.
• Tap Wi-Fi and set up a network card or a wireless network connection. Note that your
device may say Wireless Ethernet or Network Cards instead of Wi-Fi.
The connection is started automatically when you begin using a program that requires an Internet

connection. For example, when you start Internet Explorer Mobile to browse the Internet, your
device connects automatically. To manually start the connection you set up in step 2, do one of the
following:
• In the modem connections list, tap and hold the connection, and tap Connect.
• On the Wireless tab, tap the connection name, and tap Connect.
Tips:
• To set up a network card or wireless network connection to your ISP, add a new connection in Wi-
Fi.
• To delete a connection, tap and hold the connection you want to remove, and tap Delete.
