Switching On the Phone

Another way to turn on/off the GSM phone is via the radio setting application (see Figure 39). Before
making a call, you should verify that the phone radio is turned on. To turn on the phone perform the
following:
Tap: Start Menu > Settings > System > RadioIden >

Wait until the radio demonstrates a signal quality and register to your GSM network.

The Phone application can be started by one of the following methods:
Pressing the <TAB> key.

Important: the <TAB> key starts the Phone application only in Alphabetic keypad mode (use the
<SHIFT> to toggle Alphabetic/Numeric keypad). Once the Phone application appears on the
screen, press the <SHIFT> key to enable the hardware keypad of the phone.
Tapping Start Menu > Phone.
