Commissioning

Before you can start commissioning the safety functions, you must carry out the following
steps (providing these are necessary for your application):
● Create the higher-level control program, e.g. SIMATIC.
● Wire and configure the inverter inputs and outputs.
● Establish a connection to the fieldbus.

Commissioning: Offline or online

You can parameterize the safety functions both offline and online. We strongly recommend
that you commission the safety functions with the STARTER PC tool.
This manual provides a detailed description of the online commissioning procedure. The
section Offline commissioning (Page 113) describes the important points to remember when
commissioning the safety functions offline.
The operating instructions describe how to go online with STARTER.
