Independent Expiratory Flow VIVE
VIVE (Variable Inspiratory and Variable
Expiratory Flow)
Expiratory continuous flow *
independently from inspiratory flow *
mandatory breaths, inspiratory flow is applied. During
spontaneous breathing and during CPAP, the
expiratory flow is in effect.
An increased inspiratory flow *

to supply a higher flow for spontaneous breathing
than the one scheduled for ventilator breaths.

to improve gas washout in the wye by increasing
turbulence in the circuit system.
