♦ Replace camshaft seal.
♦ When installing camshaft, the cams of cylin-
der 1 must be facing up.

Notes:
♦ After installing the camshaft, wait about 30
minutes before starting the engine. The hy-
draulic clearance compensation elements
must settle otherwise valves may strike pis-
tons.
♦ After working on the valve gear, carefully
crank engine at least 2 revolutions to ensure
that no valve strikes a piston when the en-
gine is started.
