iSTAR eX Tools
Power-On LED Indicator
The power-on LED lights up whenever the board has DC power, either from
the power supply or battery. This LED is the "Super Bright LED" used in the
iSTAR and shines through the door label.
Battery Charging LED
The "battery charging LED" tells users that the battery is connected and the
battery charger circuit is working. The LED does not indicate the battery's
ability to accept and hold a charge.
If the charging current is zero (0), the "battery charging LED" is turned off.
Heartbeat LED
The heartbeat LED is connected to a port line of the micro controller and
indicates that the firmware is running.
Standby Battery
iSTAR eX supports the use of a 12 VDC, 17.2 Ah minimum capacity standby
battery.
Battery Operating and Charging Time
The battery will keep a typical system operational for a minimum of 4 hours,
and the battery will be fully recharged in 24 hours or less.
See Figure 4.9 on page 4-15 for information about a typical battery-powered
system.
Alarms, LEDs, and Battery (Model NPS)
The following alarms are connected to the PMB from the external Power
Supply and are sent to the GCM via the SPI interface.
See "Low Battery and AC Power Fail (Standard Power Supply Model)" on
page 4-9
for an explanation of how to configure the following alarms.
