Exporting Custom Certificates with the 8 Reader Option

If you are using a custom encryption certificate from a third-party vendor, it is
possible that you may have to update the certificate by transferring it to the
iSTAR eX via a USB key.
If you are using the 8 Reader option, you must remove the 8 Reader USB
Security key before inserting the custom encryption certificate key. The
custom certificate is copied (exported) to the iSTAR eX. When the export
completes, remove the USB encryption key.
To re-activate the 8 reader option, insert the iSTAR eX 8 reader key in the USB
port. The iSTAR eX 8 reader option is only available while the USB key is
plugged in.
Note that removing the 8 Reader USB Security key returns the iSTAR eX to a
four (4) reader state, which means that readers 5 through 8 will not be
operational while the 8 Reader USB Security key is unplugged. When you re-
insert the USB Security key, the iSTAR eX 8 reader option will become active
without having to restart the controller.
See Chapter 4 of the C•CURE 9000 System Maintenance Guide for additional
information about custom certificates.
