Place the removed SFP transceiver in an antistatic bag or other protective environment.

Connecting to the ASI Monitor Port (Optional)

You can route the input of a single QAM channel to the Asynchronous Serial Interface (ASI) port to
monitor the channel on appropriate test equipment. A cable with a male BNC connector (not supplied)
is required to connect to the port labeled ASI MON.
To connect to the ASI monitor port, do the following:
Step 1
Locate the BNC ASI connection on the line card (see
Step 2
Screw the barrel of the male BNC connector to the port labeled ASI MON. The connection should be
snug but not overly tight.
Step 3
Connect the other end of the cable to the test equipment according to the instructions for that equipment.
