Updating the BIOS using Phoenix Phlash16 Utility
The Phoenix Phlash16 utility allows you to update the BIOS file in DOS environment
using a bootable floppy disk with the updated BIOS file. This utility also allows you to
copy the current BIOS file that you can use as backup when the BIOS fails or gets
corrupted during the updating process.
To update the BIOS file using the
1. Visit the Viglen FTP site (ftp://ftp.viglen.co.uk/files) and download the latest BIOS
file for the Vig410P Motherboard. Save the BIOS file to a bootable floppy disk.
Note: Write the BIOS filename on a piece of paper. You need to type the exact BIOS
filename at the DOS prompt.
2. Copy the following files to the bootable floppy disk you created earlier:
 Latest BIOS file (R1_0A.ROM)
 AMI.BAT
 AFUDOS.SMC
3. Boot the system in DOS mode, then at the prompt type:
Where [filename] is the latest or the original BIOS file on the bootable floppy disk.
4. The utility verifies the file and starts updating the BIOS.
CAUTION!!
Do not shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS to prevent system
boot failure!
