Steps for installing a ten 2.5-inch hot-swap hard disk drive backplane with two NVMe drive
connectors
a. Align the backplane with the slots on the chassis.
b. Carefully lower the hard disk drive backplane until it is fully seated in the chassis.

c. Install the NVMe adapter to the PCI Express slot 2 (low-profile). See "Replacing an adapter"
on page 178.
Note: You can view the NVMe adapter information in the Setup Utility program only when your
server has the following hardware installed:
• PCIe riser 2 assembly (FRU number: 00KF627)
• Two microprocessors
