Ignition Timing (C.D.I.)
1. Ignition timing is checked with timing
light by observing the position of the
stationary pointer marked on the crank-
case and the marks on the magneto
flywheel. Ignition timing of this
motorcycle is non adjustable.

Checking the ignition timing
Using a timing light. check to see that
the stationary pointer and mark on the
magneto flywheel are aligned.
a. Remove the crankcase cover (L).
b. Connect the timing light to the spark
plug lead wire.
c . Start the engine and keep it running at
the specified speed. Use a tachometer
for checking.
Timing checking speed:
5.000
r/ min
d. While running the engine at the spe-
cified speed. check to see that the sta-
tionary pointer is aligned with the mag-
neto mark.
If
the marks are out of align-
ment, check to see that the woodruff
key is broken or crankshaft assembly is
out of alignment.

I. L'avance
a
l'allumage est controlee avec
un stroboscope en observant la position de
l"onglet fixe situe sur le carter et des repe-
res situes sur le volant magnetique.
Sur ccttc motocycle. aucun reglage d'av-
ance
a
l'allumage n'est necessaire.

2. Controle de l'avance
a
l'allumage
Un utilisant un stroboscope, controler si
l'onglet fixe et le repere situe sur le volant
magnetique sont alignes.
a. Enlever le couvercle de carter (G).
b. Connecter le stroboscope sur le fil de la
bougie.
c. Demarrer le moteur et le faire tourner au
regime specifie. Utiliser un compte-tours
pour controler le regime de rotation.
Regime de rotation pour le controle
de l'avance: 5.000 t/mn
d. Tout en faisant tourner le moteur au
regime specifie. controler si l' onglet fixe
est aligne avec le repere du volant mag-
netique. S'il n 'y a pas alignement, con-
troler si la clavette en demi-lune est cas-
see
OU
si !'ensemble vilebrequin est
desaligne.
