12 . Close the glove doors and remove hands from the gloves .
13 . Rotate the airlock to "OPEN" position .
14 . Open the airlock door .
15 . Empty the airlock .
16 . Close the airlock door .
17 . Rotate the airlock to "CLOSE" position .
18 . Close the front doors .
Tamping
19 . Start the
cycle .
20 . When tamping complete, unlock the front doors to fill more powder on the feeding piston (i.e repeat from step 3), or
proceed to next step .
For best powder compaction, compact a powder container twice (put half a powder container, run
compaction, then put the second half and then run the compaction again) .

Creating the powder bed

Operations described below complement and follow on from the Preparation Assistant "Step 6 : Powder bed" on page 37 .
1 .
Start the
Powder bed
The following steps are displayed on the corresponding cycle .
2 .
Check the proper completion of the powder bed sequence (3):
Gaps must be filled,
Powder must properly cover the area between the two pistons,
Powder must be well smoothed on the feeding piston,
Plate must be visible in transparency and the screws must
be filled with powder, to not disturb the layers during
manufacturing .
3 .
If the powder bed is not properly completed, re-run the powder bed
cycle . Proceed the next section only if the powder bed cycle is properly completed .
