IMPORTANT
• The original must be placed correctly or the sent image will not be displayed in the correct orientation on
the recipient's computer screen.
NOTE
• LTR-size originals can be placed vertically or horizontally.
• LTR size placed horizontally are called LTRR.
• 11"x17"/LGL originals must be placed horizontally.
• When using two-sided scan settings to send a document that has the top edges of the front and back
sides not reversed, the back page is sent upside down.

Placing an Original on the Platen Glass

The platen glass should be used when scanning books, originals on heavyweight or thin paper, and
transparencies.
