modification.
The default setting is not selected (unchecked). We
recommend that you use this setting, as it allows
compatibility with the widest range of signals.
Select the Audio Output Type. Choices are:
•
-
Analog
Audio A and Audio B both provide analog audio
outputs.
-
AES/EBU
Audio A is disabled and Audio B provides digital (AES/
EBU) output.
The Audio Type settings must match both the incoming
signal and the wiring implemented at the Audio
Connector. If the incorrect Audio Type is selected, no
audio will appear on the output.
For details of audio connections, see the "Installation"
chapter
Note that the RX does not currently support Linear Audio
or DVB-S formats.
Control the Color Bars. Choices are:
•
-
ON
The color bars are generated by the RX and appear on
the video output in place of any incoming video signal.
-
OFF
No color bars are generated. Video signal passes
through normally.
Configure BISS Decryption
•
BISS Decryption is a factory-enabled option that must be
Strata RX Technical Reference Manual
ordered when you order your RX. The encryption and
decryption apply to both the video/audio data and the
additional Wayside Data.
Once BISS is enabled, you have access to the following
settings:
BISS Level. Choices are:
-
-
BISS 1 Key
Enter the key you received from MRC to enable fixed-
key decryption. The key must be used by both the
transmitting site and the receiving site.
BISS E Key and BISS E ID
-
Enter the key and ID characters you received from
MRC to enable encrypted-key decryption. The key and
ID must correspond at both the transmitting site and
the receiving site.
Use SI
-
Not currently implemented. Defaults to selected
(checked).
Encryption and Presets The BISS key (and ID, for BISS E)
can be configured for each Preset.
When receiving encrypted video, if the operator switches to a
Preset that has no key information entered, the RX will continue
to decrypt the video.
To prevent this, be sure to enter key information for each BISS-
enabled Preset. If a particular Preset should not have access to
the encrypted information, enter an invalid key for that Preset.
